For our third project, we began using slabs to make useful things. I decided to make a simple spoon-rest for my kitchen and plan on painting it if given the chance.
Today I continued working on this project by painting it in underglaze after it had dried.
For this sculpture, we were told to create a human bust. I was very happy with mine until I dropped it as it was nearly finished.... I then decided that I would carve half of the head into a skull to make it more interesting, as well as likely keep the idea of adding wire glasses when it is glazed and fired. Final edit- I think that the glaze could have turned out better on this project, but I am happy with it overall.
