Noelle's Pottery

The prompt for this project was to take art from a master artist and turn it into a sculpture using clay. I decided to do this with the master artist Andy Warhol, the man who practically invented what we call 'pop art' today. He would use silkscreen painting to copy photos of celebrities and well-known objects (without permission) and create a colourful colour-block painting version of them. 

For this project, we were told to make two teacups and a teapot. I'm only beginning to work on it but I know that I do not plan on making the teacups exactly alike but that I hope to give them all a cool, common theme. Update-The cup which I made on the wheel was either thrown away without my permission or stolen? I've now decided to try and make my teapot and cups from coils! I think that I will enjoy because out of all of the projects I have done, my coil vase was my favourite and in my opinion most successful.

For this project, I layered slabs onto a large bowl mould, waited for it to dry, and added feet + sanded it. I plan on painting it with high-fire glazes to give it a cool effect.

For this project, I made a small box with a lid. The lid is slightly larger than the box's opening, as to not fall in and has a small handle at the top. I am not sure if I will decide to fire this particular box or not.

For this project, I tried throwing something on the wheel. It took me two tries and some help but in the end, I made a bowl/plate that ill be painting! I finally got around to painting this piece!

For this project we were told to make a small animal. i decided to make a sheep.

 For this project i created a cool pot- i think that this has been my favorite project so far and has come out the best. Finished product!~
